--Finalists and Judges-- [link]
Greetings folks! I know we took a wee bit of time reaching this point but we are finally ready to unleash the first round of the finals, the first crack at BBRREE and it shall all be done with much fun all around!
Lets give a big round of applause at entrants of the past and our finalists who made it all this way before moving on to our first grand round!
Oh before we begin I just want to mention that anyone with a fun experiment or two we could attempt upon our BBRREE (or BRE^ Squared) don't be afraid to come forward!
And of course if you wanna join in enxt round feel free!
Now, what match style was voted on you might ask? It is none other than the two branches of four style!
Now I know a few of you are a little disappointed that you will not face everyone but have no fear! Im presently mulling off an idea that will knock your socks off by the time we reach our finals!
Now.......On with our Sixth Round!

BRR2 Finalists

Deadline is November 28th Saturday 11:59 PM Alaska Time

And with that the finals had begun.
However, the tournament was not the only thing on people minds as some discontent was boiling in the streets.
"Why was the tournament getting all the attention? The Evil Empire of Byako has tons of fun tourist destinations and places to visit. Why arn't they getting more coverage?"
Rumor began to spread that there were treasures and secrets within different locales histories, that the different locales of Byako each had a thousand stories to tell if you listened closely enough and fun thrilling surprises for anyone who takes the time to look.
It was not long after these stories began to spread as the tournament reached its second half, what would this lead too?
=====================================
Byako Random Event!
Event:Location Appreciation! Show the locales some love man!
During the tournament what showed up in your entries constantly, there but unoticed. Seen but not noticable. The Scene! The location! The Area!
--
You are challenged to show your touristing might and get to know your local history!
This here is an interesting challenge presented of you all and you you are naturally welcome to interpret it in any possible way you want.
A few things to point out though.
During this round we wont accept any new locale suggestions but we will hold on to them to add after the round
Also, everything written in the locale descriptions is entirely everything we have on those locations so poetic licensing is not only expected but encouraged.

Optional Random Events
These are events that are completely optional and you are not required to portray. They are merely here for fun and amusement so if you want feel free to make use of them ^_^
*A baked good circus has come with pastries performing acrobatic feats of wonder!
*two delivery zepplins collide in mid-air over Byako... one was carrying hardware-store items, and the other had marshmellows!
*Several nachos have escaped Cheese Dip Prison and are hiding as visitors/tourist to escape the clutches of El Finger.
*All of the finalists have been accused of some violation of the law and the police force is on the chase!
*Devilishly devious no-goodniks have infiltrated the contest by replacing some of the contestants. Help the judges capture them... and possibly free your opponents... maybe.

Alrighty folks, Im sticking the BBRREE down here right below the finals!
You shall be given a different event and set of optionals but your welcome to use those from BRR2 (though you still need to use the random event for BBRREE Either way)
Also, since this is an experiment to test out different match style for the upcoming byako league i wont be able to get you facing everyone here though when the league comes about that should not be an issue ^^
Let me just remind everyone again that we are accepting suggestions for different styles we can play out for the upcoming league
==================================
BBRREE Battlers
==================================
Teams experiment
An experiment to try out teams Since teamed matches are as far as tourney battles go an incredibly rare occurrence we wanted to see what would come of trying it out to see if there are any difficulties to this option that we may need to iron out
Now a team battle as I understand it can be interpreted to mean either
1. two people making separate entries against their opponents and judging them all individually but counting the teams scores together
2. two people working together to create a single entry
3. Free will in which the two teams decide for themselves how to operate
4. pair your character up with a body double of your opponent and battle both your own double and your opponent in a unique team battle experience XD
Doe a deer a female deer group
Group Doe will attempt the separate entries option
Ray a drop of golden sun group
Group Ray will attempt the single entry option
Me a name I call myself group
Group Me shall attempt each individual group deciding for themselves how to function
Far a long long way to run group
A bizarre and unusual battle of body doubles
------
With this we shall see the three varying styles of team battle in action and shall learn first hand the pros and cons associated with each concept
Good luck my experimenters and let me say ahead of time that BBRREE being what it is we will probably not be trying out teams in the future rounds unless a new play on it comes to mind

Deadline is November 28th Saturday 11:59 PM Alaska Time
======================================
It was a fun day in byako! the turkeys were screaming and running for the hills, the horror movie monsters were lurching the streets and the treasure hunters were digging wherever they wanted to having heard about a great treasure!
Just an average day in Byako.....
More importantly though it was the start of the BBRREE which the public knew was some part of the Byako Round Robin but were only able to speculate on the outcome
Just what was it for?......
=====================================
Byako Random Event!
Event:A treasure hunting we will go! A treasure hunting we will go! high ho a cherrio a trasure hunting we will go!

Yush this is a bit new but we said we would experiment so there ^_^
You ma either hunt for treasure or hunt for turkeys but beware of the frightening monsters in the streets!

Done once in a tournament, it can be acceptable, but even then only as a sort of last resort.
It has all the flaws mentioned and repeated here.
It has one more that I've only seen obliquely made in passing.
The judges have been making decisions based on one on one matches thus far. How does that translate for the Sudoku style?
Rather than comparing two entries, we'd be comparing three for each fight.
Does that leave us to decide on a winner?
Do we need to rank them?
And all sorts of other logistical nightmares arise.
You want to get things moving? DON'T PICK SUDOKU STYLE.
Judging will be drawn out obscenely longer than it has been and that means longer wait times between matches. Those aren't breaks, that's time you have to wait to see who actually wins, time you have to wait for things to start up again.
It throws the victory systems out of whack.
It throws a big ol' monkey wrench in the whole of the tournament.
To vote for it is to vote for massive wait times just like this one, controversy, and frustration.
As a writer myself, this is obviously skewed towards writers.
To compensate, my judging would have to be biased somewhat towards non-written entries.
So anyone thinking, "I can make do. I write!" Think again.
It will be grueling, for all involved, if the sudoku option is chosen, so don't.
--
Who ever said I was right?
The tourney has been a lot of fun and proved to be a tremendous boon to my artistic abilities. Ive met a lot of cool people and made some great friends since joining. But theres no denying the fact thats its a long haul and a major commitment. Speaking only for me, drawing a fully developed entry requires a huge chunk of my spare time. So a year's worth of entries has left my creativity and inspiration seriously sapped. Speak to any of the other BRR contestants and I'm sure you'll get a similar story.
If it shortens the tourney to a more reasonable duration and still sports the positive points of the round robin then Im all for it. Its just my opinion, but I think the two branch format is the best way to go.
As a side note, I think its worth mentioning again that the Sudoku style and the eight sided brawl are NOT real alternatives. I know this has been argued to death already but its a valid point. Making the tourney more cumbersome for the artists is the wrong idea. It flies in the face of the tourneys ultimate purpose, self improvement and above all else having fun with your fellow artists.
While this format is not without its flaws, I still think that it is our best bet to keep the tournament exciting and fun.
