(Ailou) [link] VS
(Lex) [link]3 day comic match no random event
Deadline: January 5th
Winner:(Ailou)Judges: (Joey),
(Krow), and Ms Lettie
Judges notes 1 : Lex’s entry is unfortunately unfinished. The sketches are absolutely beautiful though, I would have loved to see the rest. Ailou’s entry was great, I loved the way it all flowed, the fight scene was terrific, love everything. Very good entry, some of the spelling is a little weird, but nothing too problematic. WNNER: AILOU
Judges notes 2 :We had two very interesting comic entries for this match up. And yet again, I’m very impressed with what the artists tried this time around. This amount of variety is really good!
Lex, your one page comic felt like it could’ve been longer, but it was still well done. I like how you used a brown colour scheme and I really think you’re onto something here. Unfortunately, the brown made it a little difficult to see your sketches, so perhaps experiment to see what would work better? All in all, good work! You can really use this style to your advantage!
My vote however goes to Ailou. Not because it’s a flash – but I do like that the artist has chosen to do something different to what they did last time. To me, this is a really brave thing to do and they pulled it off quite well. There were a lot of different scenes and some clever dialogue in this round. To make it even better, why not try adding some shading or experimenting with different types of lineart? Great going!

Ash-Arr [link]Regular battle including March Random event
Deadline: 30th April
Winner:Ash-ArrJudges:(Jasae Bushae),
(Krow), and Ms Lettie
Judges notes 1 :Littleracoondemons entry was quite neat. I liked the attempt at exploring unexplored areaness and the whole picture book approach to things.
The art and story are simple but complement eachother and are quite amusing.
The only real flaw I see in it is that the method of getting the four of them together for part two seemed a little bit forced and the initial meeting between the two pairs could have been explored more thoroughly.
overall, quite neat ^^
Poisondragon88 chose to do the maliciously cruel winter attire event XD
It starts off as a fun little comic with fun interactionyness between the characters and shows a cute little sarah.
part two then shifts into a sort of story mode that kinda feels a bit like edited comic script but is still quite good.
I didn't like the heavy amounts of empty space or backgroundless portions in the artwork to be honest and the story portion while very good on the dialogue was kinda lacking in terms of overall description.
Both entries were quite grand and had their flaws and strong points and were enjoyable to read but in the end I will have to give the win to

since she took better advantage of the random event and put more effort into portraying her opponents character.
Judges notes 2 :Littleraccoondemon!! You've come up with quite the interesting way to do a written story, I really like the way that you've drawn a picture and posted text in the description. It's different and it's eye catching! Unfortunately your story is a little difficult to follow in the second part, but I understand that you were probably trying to get it done as quickly as possible! XD I suggest being more organised next time and getting a proof read before posting! Though this is a very cute story regardless. I'm really impressed that you did this entry even after the deadline. That's fantastic!
Poisondragon88, your story begins as a good comic. I'm a little sad that you didn't continue this in comic form! Anyway, anyway, whilst your writing lets you down a little, your comic was very well done. (And yes, I loves those pokemon references!! <3 <3 ) Your story had a solid beginning and ending, so I'm giving my vote to you. Perhaps next time just stick to the one art form so that it is more consistent?
Both of you did well! Great going guys!! 8D
Judges notes 3 : Littleraccoondamon: Your entry starts off well has a nice story; well written and has good character interactions and the pictures are a nice touch with it. I like the use of the random event it works well in getting everyone together but it seems a bit forced and could have been executed a bit better. It’s the second part where it falls apart unfortunately as it comes of a tad rushed and the pacing is a bit off, making it a bit hard to follow. Nevertheless it’s a nice cute entry and made me laugh.
Poisondragon88: Overall the story is well paced, easy to follow and good interactions between the characters. The comic portion starts off well, good setup of the story and nice incorporation of the random event. The white background that occurs on and off in the pages is a bit of an eye sore at times so just be aware of it, backgrounds can add a lot to the story in each panel. Using different angles would help with the flow as there are mostly head and shoulder shots used which gets the job done but it’s a bit repetitive. It’s a shame the quality does dip off on the last page and the last written part although as a script gets to story across.
Overall I like both entries but my vote goes to poisondragon88 for a better paced stronger story

Judges: (Jasae Bushae),
Judge Disco Grandpa and Ms Lettie
Sira of thornes [link] VS
Lamia and
Sabbia Nera [link]Winner:Sira of thornesJudges notes 1 : Overall I found aankai-rain's entry to be a good attempt to tell a story. I especially liked the exchange between the two of them and found it quit entertaining. ^_^
Though to nitpick a little, it would have benefited from having the lines run through a spell check with maaaybe some punctuation to make it more legible.
Overall though I found it quite enjoyable though :3
RNBCIcey's entry was quite a fun image itself though that came with a nice little story. Perituclarly I enjoyed the neat level of detail put into Sabbia Nira and the entertaining exchange between him and Lamia.
However, it felt like not much was done with the opponent in this entry with most of the focus being on the interaction between Sabbia and Lamia. While fun, I think it could have better included the opponent in this piece.
In the end, I have to give the win to Sira's entry since it better included his opponent in the piece.
Judges notes 2 :~
Aankai-RainPros: Artwork has potential and can be quite nice on some panels.
Cons: Needs work on backgrounds and some of the line art needs straightened out. There are some misspellings and text can be cramped and confusing in certain word bubbles. There's potential here, as far as art goes, I think it would be best if you were to use a wooden mannequin or something like one, to test out poses and angles.
~
RNBCIceyPros: Nicely paced story mixed with some nice artwork.
Cons: While the artwork is nice in some departments, there are issues such as Sira's hands and the background.
RNBCIcey had a good flow in the story and some nice artwork, which is sad to see wasn't finished due to the hand injury. Despite this RNBCIcey still managed to pull off a good entry non-the-less.
Judges notes 3 :Aankai rain: Art work is nice you have a lot of potential. Good character interactions and story flows reasonable ok (i’m not overly fond of the 30 minute later thing but it works with the characters in this battle). Backgrounds need a little work as sometimes they’re there then they disappear I know they can be a pain to do but they really help give your story a solid stage to occur. Also check your spelling before you write it down perhaps write your whole script on a word document first to spell check it.
RNBCIcey: art work is very nice and holds some nice detail and the story that accompanied intergrades the random event well is nicely paced. My only real issue is that although the interactions between lamia and sabbia nera was really good and fun to read sira isn't really paid too much attention to and hardly utilized in a way he could be in the story.
I found both entries very enjoyable to read through but My vote goes to Aankai rain as the interactions between the characters was better explored and was put together to make a nice story
Gata Atomo [link] VS
Vallea [link]Winner: Gata AtomoJudges notes 1 :Mandalorianjedi's entry was a surprising little flash animation (though i don't really count the three minutes and thirty three seconds worth of 'credit's no matter how funky fresh her gangnam stlye is!) I really enjoyed this approach which hit me right in the nostalgia and found it quite humorous. If there was anything I could nitpick over regarding this, it it would be how one sided and short the whole thing was. (though the former was part of the joke and the latter is probably unavoidable given the medium)
Kanjuu's entry took the other random event which I was pleased to see. I enjoyed the direction this took and I liked the way it ended. Though, I was a bit disappointed that the proper confrontation between the two was only three panels with the next page alluding to 'several minutes' that we did not really get to see.
i will give my vote to the animation. Their more or less tied when it comes to story and use of event
Judges notes 2 :=
mandalorianjediPros: Interesting way of telling the story through a video game. Has quirky humor and oddball credits that was pretty amusing. The animation was pretty well done.
Cons: Though the animation was limited due to the video game nature of the round, it felt like there could have been a few more frames of animation for Gata. Though this might be nitpicking it felt like there could have been some different poses and stances to convey the characters' emotions to go with the dialogue, for example like those in Phoenix Wright.
~
KanjuPros: Art is actually quite nice and for the most part the coloring compliments it.
Cons: art needs to convey dialogue better, such as showing the result of the fight then showing Santa arriving and catching them off guard. Needs work on the flow of the story, such as showing us who is following who and what lead up to Vallea throwing her dagger at Gata.
Mandalorianjedi's fighting game set up was pretty nice and lead to an amusing ending. The animation was really well done and did give off the feeling that this could be an actual fighting game.
Judges notes 3 :Kanju: Entry has nice crisp art work with nice colouring to go with it and random events included in a nice way. The story however seems a bit disjointed it flows alright but some more panels to explain the following part on vallea point of view would be nice. Also although the fight scene is very good its very short and left unconcluded you not really left with a sense on who won (and I would never recommend using the several minute later thing during a fight).
Mandalorianjedi: The game style animation was a very nice take on it, the story flowed very nicely and the art work was good throughout (game setting and aftermath). My only issue is it’s a tad short and ends rather abruptly (Not counting the credits which although amusing at first got very tiresome very quickly for me), I know that was part of the whole joke but I would like to see more interaction between the characters.
Both entries are very good and picking a winner is difficult (for me and GFF at least) but my vote goes to mandalorianjedi as his entry flows better despite its shortness.

Toothbrush [link] VS
Sira of thornes [link] Winner:ToothbrushJudges notes :
Nicely drawn, with some great shading and lighting effects. The only criticism I can think of is the positioning on Sira's legs seem a bit off, but that's just a very minor complaint on a nicely done splash page.

Story seems to be bit of an improvement over the previous entry. There is clear and good enough reason for conflict and is within the characters' nature. There is also some really nice facial expressions as well and really give off a good feeling for the characters' reactions and emotions. Unfortunately some of the dialog can be a bit confusing and there are a few grammar errors here and there. A bit more of a background would add more to the artwork. Overall this has been an improvement and a step in the right direction, however there is still a bit more work to be done. Keep it up, there's some real potential here.
Both contestants did a very nice job but in the end, Glitch-of-Perfection's entry stood out the most. Thank you both for competing we look forward to your next entries.
